Get your cameras and phones ready…

Healthy Minds Canada has launched its first ever
Photo Contest!

Get your phones and cameras ready! Healthy Minds Canada (HMC) announces its first ever photo contest: #CalmInThe6ix!
We all know that The 6ix is a hive of activity, but we want you to show us where you go to find peace, calm and serenity. It could be your favourite yoga studio, a quiet bench overlooking the water, a trail within one of our many green spaces, or even your go-to coffee shop. Show us by snapping a picture of your zen-zone in Toronto. Add your favourite filter and you are set. HMC will select 10 finalists who will have their image produced and featured in a special exhibit at our annual Silver Dinner fundraising gala taking place on November 2nd at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. The photos will be viewed and bid on by over 400 guests and the photo that results in the highest bid will win a cash prize of $250. Each of the 9 other finalists will also be awarded $25 cash prize.

#CalmInThe6ix Judging Team

In addition to staff at Healthy Minds Canada, there will be two professional photographers assisting in the judging process:

Helen Grose

www.helengrose.ca

Helen Grose (aka “H”) is a professional photographer and decor designer originally from Toronto who now calls Muskoka home.

Helen’s first love is nature and wildlife. She has spent countless hours tracking animals, chasing light and waiting patiently for an animal that may or may not appear. She’s also passionate about sports and has spent the last few years travelling in Canada, the U.S. and Europe photographing professional sporting events.

Kerri Torrey

www.kerritorreyphotography.com

Kerri Torrey loves it when a photograph can make her heart smile. She believes every picture should take you back to that moment or make you feel like you were there. Based in Toronto, with her husband and two children, Kerri enjoys every opportunity to be behind the camera.

Her goal is always to capture the realness and beauty of what’s in front of her lens – families, professionals, events, interiors and more.

She enjoys laughter, poutine and watching her kids NOT fight. A warning: She will usually speak to dogs before she greets their owners and if she told you she flossed every day, she’d be lying.
